The Position
We are looking for an expert Cultivation Manager to ensure the health and success of cannabis crop production at our greenhouse in Carpinteria. The perfect candidate is not only passionate and knowledgeable about the cannabis plant itself, but also a strong leader with proven management skills and the ability to motivate a crew of greenhouse labor to exceed production targets.

At a high-level, the Cultivation Manager is responsible for all plant-related and crop production duties from propagation up to harvest at our 200,000 square foot licensed cultivation facility in Carpinteria. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage the production team across propagation, cultivation and harvest including a Spanish-speaking crew of 15 - 30+ members.
  • Operate and maintain automated climate-control systems in the greenhouse.
  • Propagate all nursery stock and transition successfully into our flower production areas.
  • Manage production plans, schedules and daily tasks to keep flower production healthy and on-schedule.
  • Manage multiple acres of flowering cannabis using hydroponic growing techniques.
  • Manage execution of all plant maintenance, fertigation programs, IPM, etc.
  • Work with Operations Manager to forecast production.
  • Work with Lab Testing team for regular in-progress crop and soil testing.
  • Manage pest pressure using IPM and environmental control techniques
  • Assess plant health, monitor and create regular solutions to issues
  • Generate cultivation protocols and fertilization program including spray schedule and nutrient feeding schedule
  • Adjust fertilization program based on environmental factors and crop type
  • Maintain a clean, pest and disease free environment
  • Oversight with Compliance Officer regarding Track and Trace program implementation

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to inspire motivation within the team to exceed performance targets
  • 3-5+ years experience in cultivation or production management
  • Expertise in greenhouse cultivation and hydroponic growing systems
  • Experience with automated climate control greenhouse systems
  • Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills
  • Experience managing Spanish speaking labor crew
  • Ability to operate within a tightly controlled track and trace environment
  • Cannabis experience not required, but other relevant agricultural or plant knowledge is
  • Proven project management skills and experience managing complex deadlines
  • Degree in Business Management, Agriculture or other related field a plus
  • Positive attitude, remains calm under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation
  • Passes Livescan background check (no felonies)
  • No recreational cannabis-use or other substance abuse is tolerated during work hours.
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must have legal working status
