Job Description:

Bay to Bay Enterprises is seeking an experienced and professional Cultivation Manager to manage our indoor, hydroponic operation in the heart of Santa Rosa, California's premier cannabis region. You will supervise a staff of 5 and manage an operation with a well-earned reputation for high-quality production.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage and Supervise 5000sq/ft licensed indoor hydroponic cultivation facility, including mother plant maintenance, tissue culture, cloning, transplanting, nutrients and pH management, water management, positive airflow, temperature and humidity control, pest and disease control, plant transfer from veg to flowering.
  • Manage plant scheduling and organization to precisely project all plant needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to produce the best results for maximum plant yield.
  • Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity.
  • Cataloging, track and organize of plant and yield records from seed-to-harvest.
  • Knowledge of pest and disease control and management (ie. IPM)
  • Maintain and follow the cultivation department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cultivation facility while performing job duties: Wash and sanitize all equipment. Ensure all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease.
  • Uphold quality of the finished product through employing attention to detail while supervising staff in breaking down and caring for flowers.
  • Account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves separately to “waste” for proper tracking and disposal by managers and trim/sugar leaves to “useable by-product” (trim).
  • Exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills.
  • Must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of cannabis they are cultivating; adjusting techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.

  • Understanding and ability to research changing cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state
  • Ability to strictly follow and adhere to cannabis laws, rules and regulations
  • Follow all safety protocols and policies; demonstrates commitment to safety first; communicates safety concerns; promotes a safe work environment based on established safety standards and training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Some college or college graduate preferred majoring in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Planet Science, Forestry, or related field
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience processing cannabis or other botanicals preferred.
  • Previous agricultural/warehouse/manufacturing/laborer experience a plus.
  • Must be 21 years old per state regulations and pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product.
  • Regularly required to perform carrying, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, some bending/crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Must not be allergic to or have a fear of insects.
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced cannabis grow location.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed inside greenhouse facilities exposed to temperatures ranging above a constant 75°F.
  • May require working rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Periodic travel may be required for training purposes or purchasing materials and equipment.
