JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Cultivation Coordinator, Temporary
Position Summary
The Cultivation Coordinator supports the Cultivation Team by monitoring donor contact frequency and making recommendations for call campaigns. This position manages the in-kind donation pipeline of gifts that come through drives and collections; creates and manages effective infrastructure to support in-kind donation management and helps steward strong donor relations in every donor contact. This position manages the logistics of cultivation events and is an active in all tours and shares responsibility for tour follow-up. This position is temporary, full-time, non-exempt with an hourly rate of $17.00 to $21 per hour.
Essential Functions
- Actively seeks opportunities to engage donors on every contact by inviting them to a tour, inquiring about their interest in Catholic Charities and capturing any relevant facts about the donor in RE.
- Maintains donor contact by making thank you calls for gifts, calls donors to personalize invitations to events, and works with Cultivation team to determine any gaps in donor contact, guided by the Donor Contact Plan. Calls donors who have been prioritized by this analysis.
- Stewards in-kind donations. Directs donations to the appropriate program/facility; fields questions from donors regarding drives, collections, logistics for drop-off. Manages acknowledgement of gifts.
- Establish mechanism to inventory program manager needs for in-kind donations. Communicate those needs to in-kind donor groups.
- Develop a portfolio of donors by attending tours and making follow up calls to specified donors.
- Maximize tour attendance by distributing tour cards to Catholic Charities facilities and appropriate outlets.
- Maintain inventory of collateral materials used for tour set-ups and tabling.
- Coordinate materials for meetings and training sessions and other activities of the Cultivation Team. Provide meeting support as needed (e.g., scheduling conference rooms, coordinating food, logistics)
- Ensure all support materials are prepared and assembled for Donor Cultivation Events, Catholic Charities Champion Events, Parish Liaison Events and others as needed.
- Become familiar with the Benevon Model and utilize it to further establish relationship with donors.
NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of child abuse.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with policies and procedures of the overall Advancement Department.
- Participate in training required by accreditation standards, and support performance and quality improvement efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- College degree, preferred. High School Diploma required.
- One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in a similar role, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an attention to detail and accuracy; ability to edit written documents for grammar and punctuation.

- Candidate bilingual in Spanish highly desirable.
- Valid California driver's license and legally required insurance (a minimum).
- Must successfully pass fingerprinting check at start of employment.
- Appreciation of the role of a church-affiliated agency in the human service field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day with intermittent occasional walking, standing, bending, squatting, and climbing.
- Ability to keyboard for up to 6 hours/day, with opportunities to vary the work.
- Ability to lift items up to 10 pound to a height up to 3 feet.
- Frequently required to carry items up to 10 pounds for up to 500 feet.
