The Position:
The Cultivation and Relationship Manager will engage donors and prospects through the management of key programs, events, and communications with a goal of maximizing support and deepening institutional involvement. The Manager will use phone, email, social media, local visits and events as well as other creative tools for engagement and cultivation. He/She will establish and maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure stewardship of current donors and board members. He/She will create a plan and goal for each donor that will serve as a foundational communication for each person and donors potential. The Manager will approve written materials, including correspondence, solicitation materials, acknowledgements, and regular communications as part of the stewardship program. They will also cultivate and steward Alumni and Board Members. Will perform other major donor activities as required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Manager will work under the guidance of the Assistant Vice President of IA for the four entities. In this capacity, the manager will likely interface by telephone and in person at Board, committee and other types of meetings, with Board members, faculty, alumni and other volunteers and supporters of each school. Manager will also interface with other YU staff members as needed in order to handle his or her responsibilities.
Manager works with other departments to ensure coordination of special events, public relations, and outreach.
Manage staff and board members working on donor cultivation events and large fundraising events
Communicate with Board Members and Alumni through regular and timely communications for events
Establish strong relationships with board members and high net-worth donors
Identify and cultivate Alumni who are interested in supporting Ferkauf , YUM, Straus Center and Wurzweiler
Oversee the Mentoring Program for Ferkauf
Identify and build relationships with potential donors
Direct the research department to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, investors, or general donor markets
Write and send letters of thanks to donors
Plan and direct special events for fundraising
Events
Oversee and approve the coordination of all special event logistics including site identification, contract negotiation for services, decorations, and technical support
Provide guidance in determining event goals and personnel required for success
Work with CPA to create and manage event marketing communication plans, including print, web, social media, and mail
Assist in planning and coordinating invited guest lecturers, speakers and industry partners to fundraising events
Create and update event guest lists, receive and track RSVP responses
Provide Support for all Fundraising Events
Plan for parlor meetings, dinners, end-of –year events and all other event
Ensure all aspects of the events run professionally and in accordance with the planning
Follow up after events
Communications
Imodules - oversee all communications with board members and alumni in professional and inviting manner
Update and maintain integrity of data through iaupdates
Office Organization
Assist with office organization to assure maximum efficiency
Answer telephone to assure timely response to all inquiries
Assist with other matters as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum four years of work experience in development or related field
Competent in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook, etc.
Knowledge of imodules
Experienced in the use of Social Media
Experience with using donor databases software and event planning software
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Skills and Competencies:
