Summary
The Courier II is primarily responsible for protecting company assets by performing secure transport duties, including loss prevention during transport and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Performs shipping verification, including counting physical inventory and comparing counts with METRC manifest and verifying invoice accuracy for every shipment of state-regulated products. Maintains knowledge of cash handling policies and transports currency, coinage and bank deposits per company policy. The Courier II reports to the Transport Manager who manages all Transport Department staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeanor at all times
Adheres to company mission statement and core values; Maintains high ethical standards and professionalism, in all business interactions
Transports approved items only, using appropriate company vehicles, based on the type of item being transported
Responsible for selecting the appropriate assistive or safety equipment and shipping containers to ensure all deliveries of company-owned assets are performed in a safe, compliant manner and to prevent damage to items or facilities
Use proper lifting technique to lift heavy items
Responsible for the tracking, security, and accurate delivery to approved point of contact of approved items
Adheres to approved schedule, route and zone when delivering approved items in approved shipping containers
Responsible for performing daily inventory of shipping containers, removing them from vehicles and storing shipping containers in the security office overnight
Perform DOT Pre-Trip Inspection and daily vehicle safety inspection
Fuel vehicles per company policy, using WEX card at approved fueling stations
Follow Vehicle Use Policy for fueling, maintenance, cleanliness, staffing requirements, DOT regulations, emergency procedures, approved break times/locations, and all other requirements
Responsible for verifying all products for each delivery at each stop and confirming manifest accuracy to include product name, type, RFID number and inventory counts
Responsible for connecting block heater to electrical supply for diesel vehicles, when vehicle is not in operation to ensure engine operation in cold weather conditions
Secure products while in transit and protect products during loading and unloading per company policy
Observe, respond to and report security threats
Complete Cash Log at each facility, when picking up cash deposits
Deliver cash to financial institutions in tamper-evident containers, while adhering to cash handling policies
Adhere to security and emergency procedures for all facilities
Adhere to security and emergency procedures for all armored vehicles
Complete Daily Activity Log and provide to Transport Manager
Check out coinage from Coin Vault, deliver coinage to requesting facility and return cash for coinage, at all times ensuring accuracy of coin and cash totals
Pick up bulk coinage from financial institution to refill the Coin Vault at designated intervals
Deliver wholesale orders to approved point of contact and ensure accuracy of order, invoice and manifest
Collect and verify payment of wholesale transactions and verify company copy of manifest is signed by client
Responsible for coordinating with Transport Manager, client and ICS to confirm delivery of wholesale transactions
Responsible for returning payment for wholesale transactions to originating facility
Maintain company-issued uniform in good repair and adhere to grooming and hygiene standards
Adhere to Chain of Command and refers non-emergent asset protection inquiries to Asset Protection Manager
Acts as a first responder to emergency situations
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of all confidential information
Understands the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and more.
Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, with ability to professionally interface with a range of employees and the public
Responsible for reading and understanding all department-specific Standard Operating Procedures and documentation
Completes a variety of Reports following incidents or investigations to initiate next steps for Management staff, Investigator(s) and Executive Officers

Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field required; Criminal Justice degree preferred
Training
Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
Required Skills & Experience
Excellent computer, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills
Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, HIPAA, and CDPHE requirements
Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
Preferred Skills & Experience
Previous law enforcement, military, government and/or security experience
Previous bank vault, gaming, or inventory management experience helpful
Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities

Must have and be able to maintain valid driver’s license
Must be able to acquire City & County of Denver Merchant Guard badge (Application Fee: $50.00, Annual License Fee: $25.00, CBI Name Check: $6.85 [$81.85 Total] Fees to City) prior to beginning employment
Must be able to acquire MED Support badge ($150 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment
