Cost Accountant

Mayflower is one of the few license holders in Massachusetts and as such we are uniquely positioned for market leadership. We will be opening one of the 3 Boston approved dispensaries. In addition, we have invested in a 36,000 sf state of the art cultivation facility to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity and quality of our products.

Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accountant will be directly responsible for owning the cost accounting for the Company. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating a top-notch financial structure with the full-support and guidance of an experienced Controller and operating team. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to spear-head numerous exciting special projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product pricing
• Reconcile finished goods inventories
• Ensure costs are classified accurately
• Conduct periodic cycle counts of plant inventory, raw materials, intermediate goods, finished goods, and other critical supplies
• Prepare quarterly inventory reserve analysis
• In conjunction with Inventory Department manage, document, measure, and record damaged / wasted / scrap inventory
• Establish and maintain standard costs/cost methodologies
• Classify and record inventory and COGS accurately
• Prepare, categorize, and track capital expenditure budgets and spending
• Continually review depreciation, labor and overhead rates for improved efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2-3 years of Cost Accounting or Analyst experience
• Familiar with costing models
• Well-developed financial analysis capabilities
• Skilled at identifying and recommending cost effective solutions
• Confident reporting and consulting on financial information to all levels of management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Highly proficient utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Comfortable working with multiple computer systems
• Manufacturing experience a plus
