Job Description:

Summary/Objective

The trainer develops and conducts product training programs for employees. As the corporate trainer, you will be responsible for delivering training in person (facilitator-led) and developing e-learning courses to be delivered through an online learning management system.

Essential Functions

  • Confers with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the department/division.
  • Formulates teaching outlines, determine instructional methods for individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, online training, facilitator guides, and reference works.
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Assists employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their positions.
  • Makes suggestions for improving work procedures.
  • Maintains trainee personnel records.
  • Develops strong relationships with internal customers to develop course materials and receive feedback.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The job requires long periods of standing while teaching a class.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Three years of training experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Some advanced education or working toward a degree.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential.
