Our vertically integrated cannabis-focused agriculture company is looking for a charismatic, professional, analytical and strategic thinking individual to take on the role as Corporate Controller at our headquarters in Irvine, CA!
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the activities of the accounting division for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
- Assists in the analysis of significant account treatments of complex and unusual transactions
- Assists in the monitoring of internal control policies and procedures for SOX compliance
- Ensures that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors cash balances and cash forecasts; arranges for debt and equity financing; invests funds.
- Assists in conducting budget analysis and cost analysis to advise business leaders of the most effective use of assets.
- Oversees all income, sales, use, property and payroll taxes.
- Oversees tax planning.
- Develops new tax strategies.
- Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data to enhance the company’s value.
- Provides executive management, C-Suite and Board of Directors and other required entities such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with financial reporting.
- Ensures accurate and timely filing of quarterly and annual SEC filings.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or another closely related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in public accounting.
- Prior experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Professional for large companies or those with particularly complex organizational structures.
Special Requirements/Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
