Summary:
Henry's Original is an energized and exciting cannabis start-up seeking an intrepid finance and accounting superstar. The Controller/Finance & Accounting will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, budget management functions as well as day-to-day accounting to ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee the activities of the finance department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management and business unit reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits; and annual and monthly budgets.
- Manage Finance department staff. Recruit, train, mentor and ensure the success of direct reports.
- Manage relationship with CPA, Banking, Bonding, and other LOBs as necessary.
- Maintain company financial KPIs, forecasting, WIP schedules
- Manage corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
- Review all contracts for finance terms and conditions and make recommendations on feasibility of terms.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
- Respond to COO and CEO requests with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications and Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with a strong Accounting focus.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Expert level computer skillsincluding familiarity with Quickbooks Pro, project management software, timecard software, Microsoft Office (With emphasis on Microsoft Excel), Internet browsers, and Email.
