Position Summary:

In this role, you will be tasked with oversight and structure of the accounting department and its activities and achieving the department’s goals and objectives in partnership with the CFO. Applicants must work well independently and be willing to fill multiple roles. The ideal candidate will have experience in building accounting infrastructure in rapidly growing companies and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience. Successful candidates will have great attention to detail, excellent time-management, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Responsibilities:

  • Support CFO as necessary on projects such as investor financials, fixed asset financing, business insurance, etc.

  • Plan and implement finance team and accounting structures as the company expands

  • Manage all accounting operations based on compliant accounting principles

  • Prepare budget and financial forecasts, and actively manage against actuals

  • Publish financial statements in time

  • Conduct month-end and year-end close process

  • Collect, analyze and summarize account information

  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statement etc

  • Develop periodic reports for management

  • Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures

  • Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality

  • Keep the company current with financial policies, regulation and legislation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to partner effectively with the CFO to drive continuous improvement in the accounting department and throughout the organization

  • Proven working experience as a cost accountant or in a relevant field

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures

  • Ability to create, understand and follow protocols, policies and procedures with exactness

  • Ability to maintain a constructive working relationship with all customers, clients, vendors and co-workers

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work effectively under pressure

  • A self-starter demonstrating initiative, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in an independent and organized manner

  • Proficiency with accounting software, Quickbooks or similar

  • Current experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal

  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive motions (typing)
