Grasslands, a journalism-minded agency, is looking for a content specialist to research and write blog posts, news releases, marketing collateral, articles and other materials for our diverse roster of clients.
What will be expected of you:
- Interview clients, take notes and from the interviews and independent research write:
- 500-word blog posts
- 800-word articles and columns
- Speaker abstracts
- News releases
- Client biographical profiles
- Marketing collateral
- Website content
- Additional writing projects as they arise
- Edit the work of freelance writers
- Turn around strong, well-researched and error-free writing on deadline, at times within a few hours

We’re seeking a candidate who:
- Lives in Denver, the Los Angeles area or the San Francisco Bay Area
- Has world-class writing and editing skills
- Has some experience writing about cannabis science and / or the cannabis industry
- Experience and / or interest in writing about biology, technology, engineering, business, entrepreneurs, investing
- Keeps on top of cannabis news
- Has a background in journalism (preferred but not required)
- Is self-motivated, organized and efficient
