Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Consumer Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the internal Marketing and Sales teams to maintain the social and promotional identity of the Company’s brand families interactively through event planning and coordination and content creation. The Consumer Engagement Coordinator will demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm and energy when interacting with customers. The successful candidate will exude passion for the cannabis industry and be able to demonstrate competence and knowledge when presenting information to the general public.

Job Description:

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all Social Media accounts for the Company in the relevant territory, and generate or curate all content for Social Media engagement;
  • Lead the online community building effort in given territory and fortify it with inbound and outbound social media engagement and social media content creation;
  • Participate and show personal presence in engagement content when required;
  • Work with Marketing and Sales teams to identify and develop objectives, targets and opportunities for promotional outreach and consumer engagement;
  • Answering/redirecting all sales enquiries on social as appropriate, and have clear directives for "social selling" online as per territory’s laws and regulations;
  • Schedule and organize all territorial promotional events for the Company, including the scheduling of necessary internal and external Brand Ambassadors;
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of event marketing initiatives, including the coordination of equipment rentals, promotional staffing, booth booking and setup/teardown, sponsorships, marketing content and materials, etc.;
  • Research regional sponsorships and / or booth presence at industry and consumer tradeshows and events; present recommendations to Marketing and Sales teams;
  • Assist in strategic development and planning of promotional, including build-out and design elements when necessary;
  • Place orders and ensure adequate inventory levels of promotional items, swag, and marketing materials for all events;
  • Document and report promotional efforts, as well as research and report analyses of the competitive landscape to Marketing and Sales management and teams; Monitor market changes and the marketing mix used by competitors (social channels, websites, blogs, etc.);
  • Ensure professional and positive conduct at all times;
  • Perform other (online or offline) duties as required by Senior Level Management; and
  • Collaborate with Education Coordinator when necessary; Assist Marketing and Sales team with daily projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Nevada cannabis industry and culture, policies and state regulations;
  • Sound understanding of the marketing/advertising regulations in each Ascent jurisdiction with emphasis on Nevada marketplace;
  • Working knowledge of mainstream social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and possess the aptitude to learn effective consumer engagement (product selling and event promotion) through use of such channels;

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to anticipate needs and solicit information;
  • Well-developed conflict resolution skills, with ability to be proactive and resolve issues effectively;
  • Creative skills with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Good computer skills including MS Office and Outlook applications;
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills;

Abilities:

  • Must be self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand/walk for more than 4 hours at a time;
  • Ability to be resourceful and think outside the box; demonstrated adaptability with projects and environments;
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with minimal to no supervision; and
  • Ability to manage parallel projects at the same time, and adapt to changing and tight deadlines; may require occasional work outside of business hours and on weekends;

Other Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be minimum of 21 years of age;
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Social Media Coordinating or a progressive Marketing role;
  • Diploma in Marketing or Communications; Degree strongly preferred;
  • Experience in the Oregon cannabis industry considered an asset;
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record;
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check; and
  • Must hold valid passport and be able to travel when required.
