Grow Healthy is looking for a General Contractor who is organized, strategic, and capable of identifying problems. This candidate will report to the VP of Operations. The candidate will fulfill the role of Construction Project Manager, and who is responsible for overseeing all construction budgets of multiple Dispensary build outs to their completion. In addition, the candidate will bring industry experience as well as assist senior management in project administration. Total compensation will include variable performance pay in addition to a market competitive base and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain project discipline and assure all objectives are met to maintain the construction schedule
  • Responsible for achieving project success by managing client relations and communicating effectively with architects, engineers, superintendents/subcontractors, vendors, and senior management
  • Produce positive financial and administrative results while carefully following company policies and procedures as well as contractual obligations
  • Identify changes in scope of work or differing conditions of project cost and time
  • Procure and track RFI’s as needed
  • Issue and prepare purchase orders while trying to achieve the most competitive pricing available
  • Resolve disputes and foresee potential cost or schedule issues
  • Review, analyze, and approve bid packages, vendor invoices, and contracts
  • Review construction documents and specifications for accuracy and potential cost saving alternatives
  • Prepare schedule of values for payment and progress billing
  • Review and track all submittals and subcontractor shop drawings
  • Confirm with vendors status of deliveries and provide updates to schedule
  • Keep track of all subcontractor change orders and communicate to senior staff
  • Attend pre-construction conference
  • Coordinate and conduct on-site meetings and prepare summary reports to senior staff
  • Produce and maintain weekly project status report to be presented at weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and senior staff
  • Approve subcontractor/vendor requisitions with work complete
  • Keep accurate project notes and keep track of superintendent daily reports
  • Enforce all safety rules and procedures
  • Keep track and maintain as-built documentation on project at all times
  • Prepare close-out documentation and coordinate punch list inspection and follow up to completion
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience at the General Contractor level required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Must have the ability to extract all key data from architectural, structural and MEP blueprints and specifications to perform material take-offs, generate RFI’s, and provide critical path items in order to provide timely success of the project
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use Level 2 Background
  • Must be willing to travel 75% of the time. Temporary housing will be provided.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Current Safety & OSHA Certifications preferred
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Office (especially Word, Excel), MS Project/Omni-Plan, iSqft, Adobe Acrobat PDF documents.
  • Experience in building a cannabis dispensary a plus
  • Knowledge of the Florida Medical Marijuana Rules & Regulations a plus
