Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Each of the functions listed below have depth which for purposes of this general description, are not listed. Essential responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage in house and sub contracted resources performing outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) work.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings.
  • Interface with customers to coordinate schedules, plans and risks.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Accurately forecast resource requirements based on completion deadlines.
  • Conduct and manage quality control to ensure projects are executed safely and to specifications.
  • Forecast, order and manage material usage requirements.
  • Oversee training and certification of in house and subcontracted resources.
  • Obtain permits and licenses.
  • Manage process of collecting, reviewing and distributing deliverables.
  • Resolve issues related to damages and customer escalations.
  • Ensure quality construction standards while using proper construction techniques.
  • Ensure the project gets completed on time and within budget with focus on account management.
  • Participate in preparation and review of estimates with attention to the following: adherence to cost control system, equipment requirements and utilization, constructability, formwork, materials, manpower, general conditions, schedule, insurance, etc.
  • Communicate directly with customers as appropriate acting as the escalation point for project issues.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Project Managers to maximize new opportunities and revenue.
  • Ensure that customers are informed of project progress, issues and projected completion dates.
  • Assure the timely completion and submission of all required reports.
  • Participate in accident investigations with fleet and safety employees. Determine degree of preventability and coach employees on safe driving habits.
  • Assist with fleet fuel and maintenance programs to assure proper usage and cost control.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor degree in business or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years in construction management. Minimum of 6 months of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization and project management skills.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Knowledge of project management processes, means and methods.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
  • Understand of all facets of the fiber construction process.
  • Familiar with construction management software packages.
  • Able to read and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues.
  • Able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, push/pull, reach, and stretch 30-50% of time.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
