Conference Assistant Intern
Job Description:
The Conference Assistant Intern will play a key role in providing the support required to maintain and grow Kahner Global Conferences.
This part-time intern will report to the Founder of the firm.
The Role:
- Research identify media partners, monitor press coverage
- Assist in coordinating sponsorships, liaise with sponsors
- Assist in social media management via Kahner Global’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts
- Proof and edit Conference print and electronic materials
General duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide general administrative duties as directed
- Support during conferences, including the registration desk
Who should apply: Undergraduate college students in New York City or Brooklyn who are interested in developing their marketing, sales, and event planning skills, while learning the ins and outs of working for a successful startup in the cannabis industry. While this is an unpaid internship, you will have the opportunity to earn commission on sales as well as the potential for a paid role starting September.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with MailChimp or similar programs preferred
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Diplomacy and comfort in interacting with a diverse audience
- Reliable and honest, with a positive outlook
- Ability to travel if needed to conferences
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in the conference or cannabis industry
- Desire to gain experience working for a small startup
- Strong client and communication skills
HOURS & COMPENSATION
- Duration of internship: June-September 2018
- Hours: 6 hours a week
