JOB PURPOSE

The Compliance Specialist is proficient at conducting regulatory research and analysis to ensure day to day compliance. Experienced in drafting operational procedures that meet all state and local regulations. Adept in conducting monitoring for operational processes and procedures, reviewing and analyzing data for compliance and implementing policies to ensure full compliance at all regulatory levels.

The Compliance Specialist is also skilled in FDA packaging and labeling guidelines. One of the core components of the role is the development and approval of packaging and labels that adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. Ensuring that the products we take to market are compliant not only on federal levels but state levels as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational procedural assessment, from a compliance standpoint, regarding industrial hemp and FDA regulations
  • Assist in developing and/or executing strategic plans to meet departmental and organizational goals while complying with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Legislative and regulatory research applicable to state, local, federal rules
  • Compliance training based on federal, state and local regulations
  • Drafting standard operating procedures based on federal, state and local guidelines
  • Evaluating the efficiency of controls and improving them continuously. Working in tandem with the leadership team to establish control measures
  • Frequent communication and interaction with all departments including sales staff, procurement, and warehouse to convey product quality and food safety information concerns and updates

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have an OLCC Marijuana workers permit
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable federal and state industrial hemp regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of FDA labeling and packaging guidelines. Knowledge of Pet Product labeling guidelines a plus.
  • Must be well adept in Google Suite or Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Cannabis/Industrial Hemp industry preferred
  • Minimum of one-year experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control field, preferably FDA regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with International Regulations for food and/or dietary supplements a plus.
  • Ability to cope with a high pace, dynamic work environment.

COMPENSATION

  • Depending on Experience.
