Job Description:

As a member of the managerial and pharmacy teams, you will support the team in the dispensing of appropriate cannabis based medication to patients. This position is full-time, year-round. We do offer some flexibility in setting schedules but this would need to be coordinated with other key employees who’s schedules may also be affected.

Prior to beginning employment every employee is legally required to submit to a background check conducted by the bureau of criminal identification and investigation (BCI&I) and federal bureau of investigation (FBI) for a criminal records check of the applicant.

Job Duties:

  • Trains Patient Care Coordinators, CEC Managers, and health care professionals on the use of cannabis-based medicines. Dispenses cannabis-based medications based on our formulary.
  • Controls dispensing of medical cannabis medications by setting policies and guidelines on monitoring drug therapies, patient response to therapies.
  • Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals.
  • Develops industry pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training dispensary staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals.
  • Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Directs Internal and external education Programs. Includes: education on the cannabis plant; physiological effects of phytocannabinoids; drug-drug interactions; qualifying disease state overview, including dosing guidelines for each qualifying condition; product administration training; creating doses for patients based on their current qualifying and ancillary conditions, capability to administer product appropriately, training on the treatment implications of patient financial considerations; training schedule to ensure proper education for complicated patient cases.
  • Trains each new CEC Manager and PCC on use of our formulary and dosing algorithms.
  • Provides Cultivation and Extraction teams with input on patient product feedback.
  • Assists executive staff with creation of documents for patient education, product administration, and dosing instructions.
  • Coordinates Provider Communication process and develops documents associated with it.
  • Conducts presentations to patient outreach programs, health care practitioners, professional organizations, and conferences.
  • Stays up to date with changing laws; coordinates with executive staff to educate all staff on updates, and ensure staff compliance with laws.

Requirements

  • Current Ohio pharmacist license in good standing
  • Residency trained with 1 additional year of professional pharmacist experience, OR
  • 4 years of professional pharmacist experience

Starting pay dependent on experience and qualifications. Performance based incentives negotiable.
