Ovation is seeking an experienced hands-on formulation chemist that can formulated topical formulations, analyze and refine them and be able to work independently as needed to drive completion of individual projects. This position will report directly to the CEO and is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are looking for a full-time and /or a part-time chemist.
Responsibilities:
- Formulating new topical and transdermal formulations is key
- Responsible for testing prototypes in the lab to meet client objectives
- Develop, qualify and validate analytical methods for release and stability testing
- Evaluate and improve existing analytical techniques and assays
- Conduct routine analysis following SOPs
- Assist in the development of commercial manufacturing processes and scale-up
- Coordinate tech transfers, stability coordination, data review
- Development of intellectual property for patents
- Troubleshoot instruments and software issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/ Masters / PhD in Physical, or Organic Chemistry
- At least 3+ years of experience in topical drug formulation and analytical laboratory work in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic or cannabis industries
- Method development and validation experience
- Strong working knowledge and experience in HPLC and similar laboratory instrumentation
- Experience performing Franz Cell Analysis
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry is preferred but not essential
- Accurately keep records and quality controls
- Maintain records as necessary to support internal and external scientific papers, reports and intellectual property filings
- Must have excellent computer and presentation skills, be able to work and maintain project schedules on multiple programs
- Fluency in spoken and written English essential
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States & located in Las Vegas
- Position requires FBI background check
