Chief Financial Officer - Northern California
State licensed medical marijuana dispensary seeking a CFO to manage the accounting and finance department. The company has seen very rapid growth over the last several years (over 200% per year) and expects that trend to continue over the next several years. Products are sold in both retail stores and to other cannabis companies on a wholesale basis.
Job Description
This position will supervise the accounting and finance department to insure the accuracy of the financial reporting, the adequacy of the internal accounting controls, and the compliance with all State of California Department of Health Services requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a talented leader that can strategize, buildout and scale the accounting and finance department to handle the tremendous growth of the company.
Responsibilities and expectations include:
- Analyzing operations to provide for continuous improvements to processes and procedures for improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Solidifying organizational structure to support future growth
- Recruiting top talent as well as participating in the development of all new hires.
- Developing performance metrics that can drive positive changes for all areas of the company (executive team, marketing, sales, business development, engineering, project management, production, finance, HR, IT/tech support, etc.).
- Developing procedures for enhancing internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Developing accurate cash flow procedures and forecasts.
- Developing accurate budgets and monitoring of performance against plan.
Qualifications
No prior experience in the marijuana or cannabis industry is required. However, the successful candidate will:
- Possess a four-year college degree.
- Have at least 5 years strong operational and finance leadership in a similar position.
- Have excellent computer and Excel skills.
- Be highly resourceful, self-motivated, have exceptional communications skills and be able to guide, coach and direct individuals to achieve their objectives.
- Possess Great organization and time management skills. You can squeeze the most out of every minute for yourself and your staff.
- Have a knack for learning quickly and maximizing available resources.
- Have quick problem-solving skills and logical decision-making abilities with creative solutions.
