NOTE: This recruitment will be used to fill two non-permanent Cannabis Program Specialist 2 vacancies. These seasonal positions are anticipated to last from June 2018 to October 2018. The locations for the two positions are: Okanogan and Tri-Cities

These positions are telework designated and the duty station will be the employee's personal residence.

Your opportunity at a glance
The WSLCB is announcing an exciting opportunity as a Cannabis Program Specialist 2 within the Cannabis Examiner Unit. These positions are responsible for field audit and evaluation of producer/processor locations. As a Cannabis Program Specialist 2 you will have the opportunity to travel across the state and visit Cannabis producers to ensure plant canopies, pesticides, inventories and licenses are in compliance with state law. These positions report to the Cannabis Examiner Manager. These positions require the ability to work with diverse licensees across the state as well as experience with detailed data analysis information. Duties
  • Monitor Cannabis Plant Canopy-conduct field visits to licensed cannabis producers and processors to perform routine measurements/assessment and record amount of plant canopy being grown in order to insure compliance with state laws.
  • Perform simple/abbreviated inventory verification of plant count; and count for small subset of inventory. Testing Labs- Check lab letters, posting, and surplus.
  • Research Licensees - Monitoring/verifying that production is consistent with project plan.
  • Photographing facilities-Take photographs of the street view of facilities.
  • Conduct random pesticide testing- obtain samples of cannabis plants to submit to Department of Agriculture for testing.
  • Review pesticide test results and make necessary referrals to LCB Enforcement Officer for corrective action.
  • May assist LCB Enforcement Officers as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or related field and at least one year of experience conducting research, analyzing policies, rules, regulations and laws or a comparable combination of graduate education and experience. Additional experience analyzing policies, rules, regulations or laws can be substituted year for year for education.

Preferred/Desired:
  • Two or more years of data analysis experience.
