Cannabis Laboratory Molecular Biologist

Job Description

We are a state-certified cannabis testing laboratory in Las Vegas with an immediate need for a Molecular Biologist to join our microbiology team. Under Nevada law, all medicinal and adult-use cannabis products are required to undergo mandatory safety and potency testing to measure microbial contaminants, cannabinoids, terpenoids, mycotoxins, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and residual solvent levels.

We are looking for a self-motivated scientist who can work independently, within a team, and be willing to fill multiple roles.

Duties for the position will include following standard operating procedures, maintaining appropriate records, sample preparation, and data analysis of qPCR results.

The ideal candidate must have:

Ability to prepare and analyze samples via qPCR in a high-throughput laboratory

High attention to detail

Ability to work well in close quarters with others

Detailed knowledge of PCR and primer design

PCR and microbiology experience

Familiar with ISO 17025 requirements

Requirements

A BSc in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field

At least one year of post-graduate laboratory experience

Must be able to work nights and weekends

Knowledge of the cannabis industry
