Job Description
We are a state-certified cannabis testing laboratory in Las Vegas with an immediate need for a laboratory technician to join our microbiology team. Under Nevada law, all medicinal and adult-use cannabis products are required to undergo mandatory safety and potency testing to measure cannabinoids, terpenoids, microbial contaminants, mycotoxins, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and residual solvent levels.
We are looking for a self-motivated scientist who wants to help build a successful business in a brand-new industry. Applicants must be able to work independently, within a team, and be willing to fill multiple roles.
Duties for the position will include petrifilm plating of cannabis samples, following standard operating procedures, maintaining appropriate records, and proper disposal of tested material.
The ideal candidate must have:
Ability to prepare many samples in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail
Ability to work well in close quarters with others
Knowledge of microbial enumeration (petrifilm and traditional plating)
PCR and microbiology experience
Familiar with ISO 17025 requirements
Requirements
A BSc in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field
Must be able to work nights and weekends
Knowledge of the cannabis industry
