Job Description:

3B Analytical is an ORE-LAP accredited cannabis laboratory looking to hire a Technical Manager with a strong record of accomplishments in analytical chemistry for our Portland, Oregon facility. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and enthusiastic scientist with extensive experience working in a highly regulated laboratory environment; has experience with Waters and Perkin Elmers Analytical Systems and software; has experience working in cannabis laboratories; extensive knowledge with various analytical techniques and instruments including HPLC-DAD, GC-MS, MS-MS, Headspace sampling; demonstrated experience in technical writing and SOP development.

This position is full-time (32-40hrs per week depending on workload).

This is a small business; you will be working independently in the lab. You must be willing to wear multiple hats, be a quick learner and problem solver.

General Duties:

  • Sample preparation;
  • Performing required analyses and overseeing day to day operational aspects and testing procedures;
  • Customer relations: answering all client's testing questions;
  • Generating reports;
  • Ensuring that personnel have the technical knowledge, applicable training, applicable demonstrations of competency, and applicable licenses;
  • Ensuring the technical competence of personnel operating equipment, performing tests, evaluating results;
  • Implementing responses to changes in SOPs and corrective actions;
  • Monitoring standards of performance in quality control and quality assurance;
  • Monitoring the validity of the analyses performed and data generated in the laboratory to assure reliable data.

Educational/ Experience Requirements: BS in Chemical, Environmental, Physical Sciences, Engineering or Biological Science. At least 24 College Semester Credits in Chemistry. At least 2 years experience in environmental analysis of inorganic and organic analytes. A masters or doctorate may substitute for 1 year experience. Experience in cannabis laboratory preferred. Experience in a NELAC accredited lab preferred.
