CB Labs, a pioneer in standardized testing of medical marijuana for commercial growers and dispensaries, is opening a laboratory in Santa Ana, CA. CB Labs currently has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Manager. We’re looking for a smart, self-driven individual to join us as we expand our foothold in the Southern California region. The primary responsibility of the Lab Manager is to plan, organize and direct the overall operation of CB Laboratory’s facility in Santa Ana, CA. This start-up lab will function to the highest standards of quality for chemical, microscopic, bacterial tests, ensuring that our clients receive the most accurate analysis and interpretation of data. In addition to quality, cost containment and timely delivery are of the utmost priority for the Lab manager
The Lab Manager will engage in continuous performance improvement for laboratory operations which will include the following areas:
- Budget and operating expenses
- Oversight, training and performance review of staff including real-time coaching and feedback
- Lab safety preparedness
- Ensure topnotch customer service standards
- Appropriate and timely communication to staff and management as it applies to all areas of lab operations
- Participation in industry education and marketing opportunities,
- Compliance with federal, state and local regulations, ensuring adherence to company standards and protocols.
- Implementation, monitoring and performance calibration of all lab equipment by establishing and ensuring consistent standards of use,
- Implement lab equipment troubleshooting procedures, training and usage compliance
Certify instrument performance and provide a keen awareness of equipment safety and the need for service and repair when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and/or equivalent accrediting agency.
- Completion of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within first thirty (30) days
- Must have at least 3-5 years previous experience as a clinical laboratory management
- Must have experience with, and working knowledge of, regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations
- Prior experience with lab equipment (such as GCMS, HPLC, volatile compound analysis using HS-GC, GC-FID, ICP-MS, LC/MSMS) is highly desirable
- Proficiency in instrumentation software such as ChemStation is highly desirable.
- Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel intermediate usage is a must!
- High integrity, professionalism and a solid work ethic are a must for this position
