Cannabis Extraction Technician

Salary Range
$20.00/hour to start. Benefit eligibility after 90-day probationary period.

We are looking for an Extraction Technician to produce high quality cannabis oils using a hydrocarbon extraction process.

Essential Functions

• Operates equipment of various sizes and weights.
• Learns and develops techniques that are essential in extraction process to increase the yielded quantity, quality, and stability of the extract.
• Strives to continuously improve the extraction process.
• Performs detailed inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the manager.
• Willingness to pack and clean columns for maximized shift performance.
• Regularly reviews safety protocols in case of emergency.
• Rigorously maintains compliance to OLCC rules, state laws, and work safety.
• Willingness to learn basic chemistry principles that apply to extraction.
• Ability to accurately and consistently document material weights, temperatures, and related information in the tracking of the extraction process.

Work Environment
This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to speak and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. You must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Shifts require you to remain on site until duties are completed or a relief worker can take over duties in progress.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• Sufficient education to execute appropriate arithmetic and complete written documentation, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics.
• Ability to evolve and learn new techniques.
