We are a start-up dispensary in Monterey California. We are focused on delivering exceptional patient service, great atmosphere, consistency, and quality.

Job Summary: The Dispensary Manager is responsible for managing all day-to-day operations of the dispensary in accordance with the local and State laws, standards, and responsible for the overall profitability of the dispensary. The Dispensary Manager provides support to all Cashiers, Dispensary Agents and Patient/Customer Coordinators which includes: scheduling, training, providing policy and procedure updates, keeping updated with industry news and product information. The Dispensary Manager will collaborate with the leadership team to develop, document and implement practices, policies and strategies that support a performance and results-driven culture.

Responsibilities Include

Retail Operations:

  • Assist Founders in design and implementation of business strategies, systems, procedures, production management, plans, and marketing concepts
  • Drive retail sales and patient/customer retention
  • Maintain all store operational standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal, State and local laws
  • Maintains a safe, clean environment for patients and employees
  • Directly supervise all activity within the facility
  • Set goals for performance and growth
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of management (production, marketing, finance, sales etc.)
  • Responsible for sales and customer experience by maintaining a tidy, safe, and inviting store
  • Responds to all agent questions, concerns or suggestions and takes action when necessary to resolve conflicts;
  • Responsible for delegating tasks to Cashiers, Security, Inventory Specialist and Sales team
  • Provides superior customer service for vendors, patient/customers and caregivers;
  • Responds to all patient/customer complaints, requests, concerns, suggestions and takes action when necessary to resolve conflicts; and
  • Oversees orders and deliveries to ensure accurate order information and timeliness of deliveries. Reports, Documentation and Profitability:
  • Help organizing and creating SOP, emergency procedures and employee records,

Patient/Customer Care:

  • Assist patients/customers with their questions, problems and complaints
  • Handle all patient/customers relation issues in accordance with company policy
  • Promote a positive experience for all patients/customers
  • Direct and oversee all patient interactions and provide clinical counseling
  • Maintain patient/customers confidentiality

Manage dispensary employees:

  • Lead the team and work effectively with dispensary employees
  • Schedule, supervise, assign and direct activities of employees
  • Communicate information to employees in an open and timely manner
  • Coach and execute counseling discussions with store employees
  • Conduct performance appraisals for all directly assigned personnel and monitor and manage to expectations
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
  • Ensure on-the-job safety of all employees and treatment for employee injuries sustained on the job
  • Responsible for managing dispensary staff, schedules, inventory and patient/customer relations;
  • Serves as a role model and resource for dispensary staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news and changes in regulations;

Patient/customer and Physician Outreach:

  • Organize and lead guest tours, and maintain relationships with physicians, patients, and professionals in the community that we serve
  • Provide ongoing education and outreach programs relating to medical cannabis for the benefit of member patients
  • Coordinate on the success of promotions, coupon and recommend future promotions and sales
  • Measure customer satisfaction through surveys and interviews
  • Responsible for the preparation of content for all educational materials and presentations

Cannabis knowledge:

  • Develop deep understanding of cannabis forms, dosing, drug interactions, and side effects
  • Understand variance strains, potencies, and methods of delivery
  • Understand and recommend dosing based upon patient/customer conditions

Security:

  • Responsible for dispensaries security oversight
  • Follow all company safety and security SOPs

Supervise delivery operations from dispensary:

  • Coordinates courier staffing and delivery
  • Supervise delivery team while they perform day to day job functions

Inventory Management:
· Inventory audits
· Inventory ordering

  • Knowledge of METRC
  • Ensure cash receipts are reconciled
  • Basic book keeping
  • Retail accounting practices
  • Operate POS and corresponding systems
  • Maintain accurate records of all dispensary activities including daily cash reconciliations, patient/customer records, sales, deliveries and returns in accordance with the State of California and the standards set by Company;
  • Maintain inventory control system and perform daily counts of all marijuana and marijuana products in the facility;
  • Provide regular inventory, sales and profitability reports to the Management Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-5 years’ experience in progressively responsible retail management environment
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to build and manage teams
  • Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to pass background check and provide credit report
  • Motivated, reliable, dependable and proactive
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in the cannabis industry but not required
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs
