CAREER OPPORTUNITY - “Rock Star” Manager/Assistant GM Position

We are in need of an experienced manager to assist in guiding the staff to providing the highest quality in customer service and education to our amazing guests!

You’d be working and living the cannabis career dream in a new, state-of-the-art cannabis dispensary located in beautiful Coachella, CA… just down the road from the Coachella Festivals.

The position serves as frontline support for the General Manager, Cannabis Consultants and Lead Consultants on duty, ensuring customer/patient relations.

The basic job requirements span personnel management, administrative duties, inventory, product orders, adherence of compliance and regulations and facilitating in successful day-to-day operations.

This position shares responsibility in developing and maintaining a highly motivated team to deliver the best customer service and education to our amazing customers and patients, in every interaction.

S/he will be people and service focused, problem solving, organized, and detail oriented. S/he should be an enthusiastic leader.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for both opening and closing the store and retaining all necessary keys and codes to operate store in the absence of the General Manager. Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Ensure all safety and compliance regulations are followed by all staff.
  • Responsibilities in cash handling and product management
  • Directly manage staff including assisting with employee scheduling, assigning work stations, helping maintain employee profiles and conflict resolution.
  • Hold “shift” meetings to inform staff of daily happenings
  • Confirm employee timesheets
  • Assist in ordering and receiving of product
  • Active role in hiring/firing, interviewing process, training and all disciplinary action
  • Ensure on-going coaching and feedback from employees. Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations in conjunction with the GM.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, new cannabis studies and information. Ensure employees do the same and communicate with GM.
  • Assisting GM in creation of, amendment of, and enforcement of all standard operating procedures as regulations require.
  • Maintain chain of command reporting pertinent information directly to the GM.
  • METRC responsibilities – includes all regulation requirements for handling RFID tags, includes but not limited to: receiving and PO of manifested transfers finishing packages, sales exports, manifesting product when necessary, maintaining separation in differently licensed product, maintaining integrity of legal procedures, and shredding RFID package tags when sold through in METRC.
  • Ensure validity of all customer and patient information/profiles. Maintain monthly manifest logs matching inventory input to signed METRC transfer manifests along with weekly and monthly inspections of a variety of compliance details.
  • POS System responsibilities - including input of product, customer/patient and employee information, discounts and coupons, daily auditing of product and cash, and troubleshooting of inventory errors.
  • Efficiently replenishes floor inventory while maintaining accurate back stock inventory tracking procedures.
  • Assists inventory & receiving manager with responsibilities including ensuring accurate inventory counts and audits, placing orders and ensuring store inventory remains healthy.
  • Perform duties of all other positions below assistant manager; fills any staffing need when necessary.
  • Ordering office and store supplies.
  • Maintain waste logs and follow waste SOPs. Quality control - ensures all unsatisfactory product is reported through appropriate channels and properly disposed of when necessary
  • Completion of various delegated responsibilities from GM.
  • Attendance required at all announced manager meetings. May be required to hold meetings for other staff; consultants and leads. Creative input for specials, events, pop ups and all-around education for staff and public.
  • Ability to complete all inspections successfully, ability to proficiently navigate DVR system
  • Maintain store culture & overall customer and patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements & Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

  • Must be able to obtain occupational licensing.
  • Experience in the legal cannabis industry.
  • College education preferred, but not mandatory based on experience in management and/or cannabis industry.
  • Spanish/English Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Knowledge of cannabis POS software & CA compliance requirements involving the sale of cannabis. Ability to learn, use and navigate various modern technology.
  • General understanding of the cannabis industry including product knowledge, compliance, and best practices
  • Genuine interest and enthusiasm for cannabis and the cannabis industry.
  • Management experience absolutely necessary. This experience is preferred in the cannabis industry, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to remain even tempered in high stress situations. Ability to manage people successfully.
  • Knowledge of cannabis, cannabis products, cannabis accessories and methods of consumption.
  • Experience in high volume retail sales
  • Proven success with customer service and building relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Great people skills applied not only with customers, but with staff.
