Job Description

The Cannabis Commercial Insurance Sales Specialist will be responsible for growing the California cannabis insurance book of business. With the support of the corporate office, the sales specialist’s primary focus will be on prospecting and educating cannabis business owners on their risks and the associated products available to mitigate their risks. The Commercial Insurance Sales Specialist will assess the risks of their prospects and work with the top cannabis insurance carriers in the country to properly protect their clients. Additionally, the sales specialist will assist their clients through the renewal process and be available to provide superior customer service to their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing sales leads generated through referrals, networking, marketing, cold-calling and lead databases
  • Foster long term relationships with key referral partners in cannabis industry
  • Develop, meet and exceed weekly, monthly and quarterly sales goals
  • Build a long-term book of business
  • Selling over the phone and/or email and, If necessary, setting appointments with prospective insurance clients and meeting with business owners in their businesses or other settings
  • Making presentations to educate, inform, and up-sell clients on new products and services offerings to increase business efficiency, lower risk, and enhance profits
  • Presenting and explaining insurance policy options based upon prospective clients needs and goals with exceptional customer service
  • Expanding current business by consistently understanding clients' changing needs and making appropriate recommendations
  • Navigate our lead management system to increase closing ratio and generate systematic follow-ups
  • Working in a team environment to assist in the overall growth of Bricks + Mortar Group

Requirements

  • Success working in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven track record meeting and exceeding targeted sales goals
  • Develops new account prospects through networking, referrals, cold calling and prospecting to our existing prospect lists
  • Outgoing personality with experience developing relationships with a strong network of contacts
  • Strong desire to exceed expectations; self-motivated and self-disciplined with the ability to work effectively with little or no supervision
  • Enthusiastic about the role that insurance has in helping clients manage everyday risks
  • Ability to develop rapport with client and management and maintain strong working relationships
  • Able to effectively interact with people using outstanding verbal, written and listening skills
  • Highly organized and self-motivated individual who can multi-task
  • Able to understand and explain product features and benefits during customer interactions
  • Presents key selling points, features, and benefits while focusing our message on exceeding customer needs and expectations

Experience

  • CA Property and Casualty license required
  • Commercial Insurance experience: 1 year
  • Sales experience: 2 years
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Required work authorization: United States
