Job Title: Cannabis Assistant Manager

Department: Salish Coast Cannabis

Summary:

The Cannabis Assistant Manager is responsible for providing direct support of the Cannabis Retail Manager in the overall operation of Salish Coast Cannabis; organizing, coordinating, and regulation of all cannabis and associated product line. The Cannabis Assistant Manager will maintain proper inventory levels, monitor all employee performance, and ensure that all customer interactions meet the organization’s standards of excellence. The Assistant Manager reports to the Retail Manager and the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Cannabis Assistant Manager:

  • Trains, coaches, develops, and mentors subordinate personnel in all aspects of customer service. Continually monitors, evaluates, and disciplines assigned personnel as necessary according to established policies and procedures. Responsible for assigning all work, and the time management of all cannabis employees.
  • Establishes weekly work schedules for the outlet and ensures proper staffing coverage. Maintains an awareness of special events and promotions that may affect business levels and schedules staff accordingly to ensure all customers receive exemplary service throughout their experience.
  • Conducts inspections of the establishment and observes workers and patrons to ensure compliance with all Federal and State occupational, health, and safety standards and regulations.
  • Assesses and analyzes industry trends, identifies ideal product lines to be maintained and presented for sale based on local demographic needs.
  • Maintains accurate point-of-sale records and updates point-of-sale system as needed including inventory and pricing structure. Promotes accountability of point-of-sale transactions by ensuring all staff adheres to established cash and charge policies and procedures. Responsible for the correct accounting and handling of all cash transactions including the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Stays informed and knowledgeable about Tribal Cannabis law, the Tribal-State Compact, and all state and local laws, regulations, and industry news.
  • Ensures dispensary and personnel are in compliance with regulations in all operations, processes, inventory management, and protocol.
  • Maintains close liaison with the Retail Manager and General Manager to communicate pertinent information concerning the operation of the cannabis outlet.
  • Works with Retail Manager developing and implementing promotional and sales concepts that will increase patronage and the profitability of the organization.
  • Directs and maintains the overall cleanliness and appearance of the store.
  • Ensures the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction, including dealing with guest complaints in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Retail Manager and General Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field and basic knowledge of Washington State Cannabis law and regulations is preferred.
  • At least two years’ supervisory experience in retail operations is required.
  • Strong personnel management and retail operations knowledge, including inventory control, loss prevention, retail POS systems, merchandising, customer service, and budget preparation.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work independently and possesses a sense of urgency, is high energy, and applies a hands-on approach.
  • Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products.
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age with no prior felony offenses.

Must pass extensive criminal background check and drug screening (with the exception of THC, obviously).
