Job Description:

ACCOUNTANT

We are listed as a top three cannabis business in Oregon, located in Medford. We are growing rapidly, and we have a complex business structure and inventory process. We need an experienced accountant with a good grasp on general ledger coding and inventory processes. This position reports directly to the Controller. This position requires someone who is a self-starter and able to take on a variety of duties and responsibilities as needed. This position is part-time starting out but may move to full-time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment,
  • Review customer payments and post deposits to bank account.
  • Review AR Aging and AP Aging for past due accounts.
  • Audit and process credit card bills/statements.
  • 1099 set up & maintenance.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist in month end closing.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices,
  • Coordinate with purchasing for all necessary purchases.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ or Associate's Degree in Accounting with 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required * Microsoft NAV experience a PLUS
  • Experience working efficiently and effectively with manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of costs * Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports * Detail and deadline oriented * Able to quickly learn computer programs, build reports using queries, lookups and pivot tables; gather data for reporting and analysis * Strong organizational and communication skills * Strong work ethic * Able to work independently and cooperatively with others
