Buyer / Procurement Specialist

We are looking for an energetic professional to manage the procurement of retail cannabis products from grower/processors for several dispensaries stores. The position will also be responsible for managing inventory and maintaining good relationships with the store managers and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for accurate and timely maintenance of data such as add new, delete inactive or change items with regard but not limited to source, product description, lead-time, re-order points, re-order quantities, and safety stock levels.
• Provide monthly management reports which includes turn rates, slow movers no movers and quality reporting metrics as defined by the CFO.
• Be the process owner of the procurement process ensuring the entire system works as intended. Engage in problem solving activities related to the Green Bits and BioTrack as they arise.
• Processing POs and ordering product. For this task the position will be required to review inventory locations, determine if reorder points have been hit, scan bar codes with automated data collection tools, and process POs using WSLCB trackability system.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping using current technology;
• Analyze budgets, and compare to actual costs; report on variances and request approvals.
• Process and prepare for approval, purchase orders for product for stores.
• Ensure accuracy of invoices and complete purchase records.
• Maintain purchase records and reports; assist in audits and inventory assessments, compile data and prepare a management of reports.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

Successful candidates will possess a high school diploma plus some college courses in related field of study.

3-5 years of experience in a retail buyer environment. $3-$5mm annual purchase volume.

3 + years of lean experience in a high-volume manufacturing business

Proficiency in Excel a must

Demonstrated track record of cost reduction, on time quality performance, and process improvement

Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously making decisive decisions Proactive and positive, customer service oriented, dynamic and flexible, people management skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills, verbal and written communication skills

Must be a highly organized, self-managed individual who works independently with minimum supervision and the ability to work in fast paced environment

Experience: 3-5 year experience

Education: Associate degree. BS/BA degree a plus
