POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to our General Counsel and working closely with our CEO, the Business Development Associate will be responsible for research, analysis and development of new business opportunities and markets nationwide and provide in depth recommendations. We are looking for an energetic, organized, hands-on Business Development Associate that has business and regulatory acumen and experience and will be responsible for aggressive expansion in the fast-paced and politically evolving cannabis industry. Every day is a different challenge and you will roll up your sleeves to get the job done to keep up with our high standards of leadership and rapid growth.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Responsible for all aspects of business market expansion including current and future business opportunities.
- Research, monitor and maintain an up-to-date database of national and state specific regulatory and licensing updates, political environments and government legislation.
- Lead strategic evaluations of national and state specific cannabis industry trends, regulatory and policy environments, political trends, and market structures to assess risks and opportunities.
- Assist in preparing proformas, budgets and schedules for expansion opportunities with input from the senior management.
- Be responsive to requests from senior management including our board.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather, monitor, process, and analyze cannabis market data and prepare licensing and business opportunity reports and maps.
- Perform market research and analysis to obtain competitive information, customer and employment demographics.
- Provide analytical support to executive management regarding divisional regulatory and pricing analysis on new business licensing opportunities, sites, permits and possible building and land acquisitions.
- Work cross-functionally with executive management to develop and support strategies and policies regarding market expansion and new business opportunities.
- Lead sophisticated quantitative and qualitative analysis of cannabis markets to guide Tryke’s market development strategy, influence key industry decision players, and set policy direction.
- Support advocacy work through industry associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other allies to advance Tryke’s strategic interests and priorities.
- Pursues educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge, reads professional publications, maintains personal networks and participates in professional organizations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- MBA plus 1+ years of investment/business development/acquisition experience as an Associate or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Accounting, or similar field plus 3+ years of investment/business development/acquisition experience.
- Strong aptitude and knowledge of regulatory and political environments and processes, business development analysis, financial proforma and prospectuses, presentations, due diligence, relationship building and deal management.
