SUMMARY
Medicinal herb company, focused on locally sourced herbs, is growing and the time is now to get in and help grow this budding business. Our company produces, processes, and retails medicinal herbs, including cannabis. We are seeking a skilled Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our management team as a Brand Manager.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
Primary responsibilities are to coordinate and manage the multiple company brands by building strategic campaigns, public relations, advertising, SEO, social media, websites, community events, product packaging design and point-of-sale pieces, graphic design, email marketing, and overall management of promotional tools to meet short and long term sales goals.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* A creative mind AND a positive attitude!
* 3-5 years of experience in marketing, advertising or related field which could include non-paid experience. 5 years preferred
* Excellent editing and writing skills. Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills.
* Graphic, layout and computer knowledge required
* Photography and videography
* Successful management experience - hiring, training, evaluating and directing
* Experience in a retail store environment with knowledge of operations preferred
* Experience developing systems and procedures
* Experience serving the public
* Posses a high level of "Integrity"
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing and reputation management.
* Exceptional time management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities, and willingness to work outside the box to get the job done.
* Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+Local, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
* Excellent communication skills: good listener, good written and verbal communication skills
* Familiarity with medicinal herbs
* Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer
* Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work with executive team to create a solid branding message that's reflected across the company's marketing materials, social media content, and shared by our community.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DUTIES:
* Plan publicity strategies and campaigns
* Write and produce presentations and press releases
* Deal with inquiries from the public, the press, and related organizations
* Organize promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits
* Speak publicly at interviews, press conferences and presentations
* Provide staff with information about new promotional opportunities and current PR campaigns progress
analyzing media coverage
* Commission or undertake relevant market research
* Liaison with clients, managerial and journalistic staff about budgets, timescales and objectives
* Design, write and/or produce presentations, press releases, articles, leaflets, ‘in-house' journals, reports, publicity brochures, information for websites and promotional videos.
PACKAGING and POINT OF SALE DESIGN
* Design packaging by examining market preference, regulatory compliance, and consumer need to deliver packaging
* Design displays for instore product marketing
* Source best priced manufacturers and design product packaging that meets the company goals and brand image
* Manage packaging supply chain
SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work with team to create a social media strategy that collaborates with marketing, PR and advertising campaigns, research top influencers, competitors, and trends in several industries.
* Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
* Monitor sites for customer service opportunities and initiate conversations. Drive community involvement.
* Analyze and report social media actions on a monthly basis for successes and new opportunities.
* Create engaging and professional visuals that reflect the company's brand (customize social media pages (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube), develop supporting offline collateral, create original content, etc).
* Continue to refine and define our social marketing process.
* Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the business. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
