Book keeper Internship

Curaleaf NY (subsidiary of Palliatech, Inc.) is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. We are seeking a part-time intern for a fast-growing company to provide support to Director of Finance at our New York office. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a pleasant work environment ensuring elevated levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety. The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy and will work with other management team consists of Director of Dispensary Operations, Patient Outreach, Community Outreach and Office Admin.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Partner with Finance & HR Manager to manage vendor bills.
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Issue financial statements
  • Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Process payroll in a timely manner
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • Able to adapt accounting softwares.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2-4 year college education (Degree in Business, Banking, Accounting, Finance)
  • Proven 1-3 years of administrative experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred experience: QuickBooks Enterprise skills

Additional Info:

Part-time 22-25 hours per week.

Looking for intern for 2-3 months, with possibilities of moving into permanent role if successful at the end of internship.
