Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading and planning the billing and Accounts Receivable department. The individual is responsible for designing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective billing processes. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department

Provides Direction to:

Billing A/R Clerk


Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee and streamline billing and collections processes
  • Evaluate customer terms to maintain timely collection rates
  • Manage new credit application and determine customer credit eligibility
  • Month-end closing of the billing group information
  • Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
  • Monitor incoming payments daily for timely cash application
  • Special program/billing planning and implementation
  • Field Operators' problem escalation and customer service

Education/training/experience:

  • 2-5 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable or Collections Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics preferred
  • College degree in accounting/finance/business management preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Accounting software knowledge preferred (NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision

Knowledge of:

  • Proven ability to perform strategic planning and priority setting for a billing department
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports
  • Detail oriented with an Accounting background
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and internal personal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation
  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key
