Job Description:
EVIO Labs is an independent cannabis testing laboratory. We provide state-of-the-art testing services for licensed medical marijuana producers and distributors. We provide the most accurate results in the industry while helping ensure customer safety and compliance with state regulations.
Hours: Day shift (9-5.30 or 8-4.30) Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday shift every three to four weeks with the prior Monday off.
Responsibilities:
-Works with Lab Director to maintain regular, two-way communications and integration of core laboratory.
-Provides direction to lab team to achieve operational and technical objectives including workflow design, service quality, financial performance, regulatory compliance, personnel management, client satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-laboraotry activities.
-Ensures that proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer's needs for laboratory services
-Concurrently monitors laboratory staff performance to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements
-Continually monitors and stays abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the laboratory industry, and ensures changes are accurately communicated to affected departments and implemented on a timely basis
-Analyzing samples consisting of a variety of matrices using traditional laboratory technologies such as HPLC and LC/MS/MS
-Preparing samples for analysis Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation Ensure that all data generated meet quality control requirements
-Researching new technologies and methodologies to improve laboratory processes and techniques Reports to the chemistry team leader
-Work with the laboratory team to meet reporting deadlines
-Consumables ordering, sample storage and disposal, cleaning and similar lab processes
Qualifications:
-Minimum BS/BA in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field and at least 4 years of laboratory work experience
-Minimum 2 years of Managerial experience in a laboratory environment
-Excellent written/verbal communication skills
-Excellent laboratory troubleshooting skills
-Detail oriented
-Experience with HPLC and/or LC/MS/MS instrumentation experience is a strong plus
-Experience with GC and/or GC/MS is a plus
-Food science experience is a plus
-Must pass an extensive level 2 background security check with no convictions
