Job Description:

Plenty is seeking an Associate Grower who will assist in all aspects of product development and applied plant production in a modern, fast paced, high-technology hydroponic farm.

The individual will be involved with our efforts aimed at optimizing all aspects of hydroponic growth and in routine activities, including data monitoring, plant handling, harvesting, analysis and collection of environmental and production data.

A key component of the position will be the ability to work down in the weeds on several projects simultaneously and assist the Farm Operation Team in a wide range of different activities including working on your feet daily for long stretches in order to monitor, maintain and optimize crops.

What you'll do:

  • This will be a hands-on role where you will be seeding, transplanting, and harvesting crops, monitoring and controlling plant nutrition, and managing high-intensity plant production equipment
  • You will support a wide range of farm and laboratory duties, including but not limited to monitoring, data collection, experimental setup, basic laboratory tasks such as cleaning and maintenance, etc.
  • This role will work closely with the Plant Biology Team in executing all aspects of plant growth optimization
  • Provide operational guidance to the leadership team, as well as technical input for cross-functional project teams
What we're looking for:

  • Motivated individuals with plant science, agronomy or related backgrounds to assist in a wide array of activities in plant growth and product development. Direct plant experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in greenhouse or production farm environment with direct plant experience
  • Understanding of plant science, horticulture and plant materials, propagation, pest management, and crop production
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously
  • Superb technical problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of plant material functionality, plant biology, and plant biochemistry a plus
  • Background in botany and horticulture is preferred, along with enthusiasm around building things and experience with tools
  • Experience with common data collection, analysis and documentation tools
  • Understanding of basic experimental design, scientific method and statistical design and analysis
  • Ability to effectively take direction and implement changes quickly
  • Humble, teachable team-player who is enthusiastic and hard-working
