The assistant store manager will assist in the management of our downtown retail store.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the store staff.
- Cash handling and reconciliation of cash registers.
- Ensure accurate count of daily cash deposits, record deposits in the ledger, and update the safe log with every entry to maintain an accurate cash balance.
- Check cash balance of in-store ATMs, and refill them as necessary to maintain an adequate balance.
- Employee scheduling.
- Coordinate onsite deliveries by licensed vendors; must be present during product delivery and count to ensure accuracy.
- Management of the Metrc database.
- Work with shift supervisors to update inventory, menus, and Point of Sale (POS) pricing.
- Maintain window displays (front and show room cases).
- Must be positive and provide a welcoming experience for staff and customers.
- Be the point of contact for customer concerns; report critical feedback to manager.
- Manage and troubleshoot point of sale systems.
- Manage customer loyalty rewards program and send weekly sale information to customers.
- Ensure cleanliness of storefront, floor areas, and common areas in back office.
- Complete other tasks as delegated by the store manager.
Skills and Education:
- Strong leadership skills: ability to direct others, make good judgment calls, and act fairly with a high level of integrity.
- Must have an uncompromising commitment to ethics, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Must have at least 4 years of general retail experience.
- Must have at least 2 years of retail management experience.
- Strong customer service skills: must have a great attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Phone etiquette: answer the phone and provide positive and informed answers to questions.
- Computer skills: must have basic computer skills, be comfortable working with iPads, and be familiar with Microsoft programs (e.g. Word & Excel).
- College degree preferred.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a marijuana handler permit or be able to obtain one prior to starting employment.
- Must be reliable and honest.
- Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
- Must not have any misdemeanor or felony convictions.
Compensation: This full-time position has a starting compensation of $20-$25 per hour. Employees also receive a 20% discount on all transactions. This is a management-track position, and the successful candidate is expected to develop over time into a role of greater responsibility and compensation (e.g. store manager). Our company is expanding with the planned opening of multiple new stores. Paid vacation is accrued at the rate of one week every six months. Sick leave is also provided. Healthcare insurance and 401k plan are not currently available.
