Position - Assistant Manager
Reports to - General Manager
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in all aspects of store operations. This includes coaching and developing the staff and providing leadership that will ensure the company’s mission is delivered to every patient and customer. As leaders, they represent the company and must be a strong role model to their peers, assisting in brand presentation, developing new talent and driving results. The Assistant Manager must be able to maintain and operate the store on their own, as they will act as the Store Manager when the General Manager is not available. Employees must be able to approach the Assistant Manager with any and all problems they have.
Responsibilities
Dispensary Agent Support:
- Participate in the recruitment, training, development and success of all dispensary staff
- Maintain a safe and secure environment
- Encourage teamwork among employees
- Perform daily observations of staff, providing both positive and constructive feedback
- Ensure that work procedures are properly documented and all established SOPs are followed to maximize workflow
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment
- Create weekly schedule for dispensary staff that complies with labor control policies
- Provide aid to employees through course correct, hiring and training, and task assignment
- Work closely with newer employees to ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and followed
- Schedule end of month and end of year inventory audits and reconciliations
- Make sure all product is properly organized in vault
- Respond to all employee questions, suggestions, and concerns and resolve any staff conflicts
- Hold daily pre-shift meetings
Sales and Customer Service:
- Analyze core metrics to better understand store performance in order to beat and exceed goals
- Track all employee and store sales daily to ensure optimal performance
- Recommend future promotions and ways to increase sales trends by understanding the success of previous incentives and promotions
- Execute dispensary selling strategies through incentives, displays, internal and external marketing
- View sales reports and communicate with team to identify sales trends and potential stock requirements
- Utilize approved employee incentives to drive sales and boost morale
- Provide complaint resolution to ensure satisfaction of all customers and patients
- Own all customer feedback and provide customer/patient complaint resolution. If complaint needs to be moved to another department, follow up until resolved
- Utilize customer and staff feedback to readily implement changes to improve customer service
- Maintain the set inventory levels based on budgets
Daily Store Function:
- Maintain store compliancy with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Handle all cash counting and change distribution
- Balance all employee drawers and daily sales reports
- Implement and oversee security, reporting and cash management procedures related to opening and closing of the dispensaries
- Maintain accurate record keeping of all necessary files required by the Department
- Perform all daily opening and closing procedures
- Ensure that sales floor is adequately stocked with product at all times
- Keep track of all expiring products and promote sales as needed
- Coordinate with inventory specialist to perform daily/monthly/yearly inventory audits and reconciliations
- Maintain expired/damaged product log and send waste product back to the grow as necessary
- Ensure all product received by vendors is compliant
- Handle all visits from state officials, providing all documents requested by the Department

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Previous cannabis experience is preferred but not required
- 4+ years in a high level management role
- 3+ years in a retail/customer service environment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends if necessary
- Ability to pass a federal and state background check
- Must be 21 or older
- Experience with Windows based software and point of sale applications
