Assistant Grower

Applied Ecological Services, Inc. is looking for full-time Assistant Grower in our Baldwin City, KS office to begin work immediately. This position will be responsible for the execution of plant propagation and plant care activities and the facilities and equipment required for those activities. This position will have supervisory duties.

A well-qualified candidate will have the following attributes:

• Experience in areas involving native plant and seed propagation, production and quality assurance.
• The ability to oversee the horticultural assistants and their plant production related duties.
• Valid Driver's License, Federal Medical Card and Forklift Certification are required (training on forklift is offered within the company after hire).
• Pesticide Applicators License required.
• 4-year degree in related field and at least 6 months related experience; or a high school education and at least 2 - 4 years related experience or training.
• General computer literacy including use of email and data entry programs, proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  

Some pre-employment screening is required. Candidate must be able to meet physical requirements of the job and, once hired, obtain certain certifications including (but not limited to) DOT/CMV physical for operating commercial vehicles and pre-employment drug screen. A copy of your 3 year driving record is required.
