Assistant Grower Job Description
Overview: Helps lead the strategic direction and day-to-day activities of the growing operation.
Essential Functions:
--Assists with overseeing the entire growing process: cloning, transplanting, feeding, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal, and inventory management
--Helps oversee and direct the entire greenhouse staff
--Suggests staffing needs and supports the recruiting and hiring process
--Responsible for product quality
--Aids in management of nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature, air flow, etc.
--Assist with management and prevention of plant diseases, insects, and fungi
--Schedules workflow organization on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
--Maintains a clean and organized Grow environment
--Works to Implement inventory control and compliance procedures
--Helps to oversee water, media, and solution sampling and testing
--Researches new strains and techniques to suggest to increase yield and reduce costs

Work Environment
This job operates in a greenhouse environment. Conditions are often humid, hot, and bright. Standard gardening equipment is often used in this job.
Physical Demands
This is an active position requiring regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The position requires talking and hearing as well as visual acuity. Employees must frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work may vary by scheduling or seasonal needs. Evening and weekend work is required.

Must be 21 or older
Must have a current MED Key Badge
Must be eligible to work in the United States
