Champlain Valley Dispensary (CVD) is seeking a full-time Assistant Facilities Manager.
This position supports the Facilities Manager in everyday operations and is responsible for the care, monitoring and preventive maintenance of CVD facilities.

Summary of duties:
- General Maintenance: Coordinates building maintenance, service and repairs for all CVD facilities using equipment and facility maintenance schedules. Assures all equipment and mechanical needs are met and responds to calls for repairs to ensure continuous CVD operations. Supervises the work of sub contractors to ensure completion and that work meets standards. Performs necessary maintenance such as replacing filters and light bulbs, painting, light construction, wall repairs, moving furniture/equipment.
- Janitorial: Coordinates and performs janitorial needs of CVD including trash removal, composting efforts, as well as hazardous waste disposal. Ensures work or sub-contracted work meets standards.
- Company Vehicles: Coordinates company vehicle maintenance and arranges for company car assignments and scheduling. Develops company car usage guidelines and protocols.
- Grounds: Coordinates and performs grounds maintenance including snow removal, salting, parking lot and landscape maintenance.
- Supplies: Responsible for ordering company supplies and ensuring adequate supplies in stock at all times.
- HVAC: Monitors performance of HVAC systems, and performs basic maintenance of HVAC systems as necessary. Coordinates repairs to HVAC systems as required.
- Safety: Conducts safety training for employees, including coordination with authorities for scheduled fire drills. Ensures fire equipment is maintained properly and is operational at all times.
- Delivery / Transfers: Carries out routine deliveries to other CVD sites as needed and according to protocols.
Minimum required qualifications:
Education and experience:
- High School Diploma / GED plus 3 years similar, applicable work experience. Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of machines and tools and their uses in the construction or repair of buildings and building systems.
- Ability to monitor HVAC systems, perform basic repairs, and recommend further repairs as needed.
- Ability to assess needs relating to building maintenance and equipment repairs, and perform routine work and repairs that meet quality standards.
- Ability to monitor and identify safety risks and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in Macintosh software, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software systems that are specific to the industry.
- Must successfully complete a criminal record check with the Vermont Crime Information Center.
