Summary
The Asset Protection Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising and managing Asset Protection Associates (APAs) for
overnight and daytime operations under the direction of the APA manager. This position has a shared responsibility for responding
after hours and on the weekend as needed, providing assistance and support for safety and security concerns throughout business
operations. The Asset Protection Supervisor role requires the ability to manage staff; understand and apply internal protocol, policies,
and procedures; and effectively apply external governing rules and regulations in a manner that promotes safe and secure
environments and operations throughout the company. The Asset Protection Supervisor manages onsite audit and investigative
services, both internally and externally, for determining root cause analysis and corrective actions. This position requires a high level of
safety and security access and thus requires sound decision making built on integrity with good leadership skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and provide leadership for the APA team while adhering to organizational policies and procedures
- Implement security and safety policies, governing regulations to help sustain safe and secure environments as it relates to all operations within the company including public gathering events
- Understand compliance requirements governing our business, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana
- Enforcement Division (MED), Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and
- Environment, etc.
- Plan APA work schedules, approve timesheets, conduct performance evaluations, etc.
- Respond to after hour-emergencies in collaboration with the APA Manager and other associates, including management and executives
- Evaluate operations within the security department, perform audits, and complete S-Type initiatives and objectives
- Plan and implement organizational changes within area of responsibility
- Perform investigations into company losses and/or shrinkage, inventory discrepancies, cash handling discrepancies, all suspected criminal activity of employees or guests at any company-owned facility, and any other suspicious activity
- Complete a variety of investigative duties, including camera review, interviewing persons, site visits and observations, and searches of persons and/ or property
- Create investigation reports following completion of investigations and communicate investigation findings to stakeholders
- Collaborate with APA manager and Investigator for maintaining security throughout the company
- Maintain the integrity of all confidential information
- Responsible for maintaining the security of company software by performing regular audits to identify any non-approved users and permissions
- All other tasks and job duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Training
- Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
Required Skills & Experience
- Excellent computer, mathematical, language, problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions
- Ability to follow established company protocol for digital and inventory control and document storage
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining advanced security systems
- Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
- High-level attention to detail
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous law enforcement, military, government and/or security experience
- Previous high-volume cash handling with cash register and banking services experience
- Investigation experience
- Regulatory contract experience
- Multi-site environment experience
- Ability to task prioritize with shifting workload in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Cannabis industry experience preferred

- Must be able to work in a retail or office environment with varying noise level

- On-call working status as needed/able to respond to emergencies during and after normal operating hours
- Must have and be able to maintain valid driver’s license
- Must be able to acquire MED Key badge ($300 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment
