E. & J. Gallo Winery is seeking a Grower Relations Manager to lead our South Central Valley team. As Grower Relations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team year-round while also driving our seasonal harvest initiatives. You will build strong partnerships with contract growers to deliver high quality grapes that meet or exceed wine style targets.
What You Will Do
Grape Sourcing:
- Develop pricing and sourcing strategies to meet winery demand forecasts.
- Monitor grape market activity
- Maintain and enhance business relationships with growers
- Ensure grape quality standards and wine style targets are achieved
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of viticulture and vineyard practices alongside wine grape experience
Collaboration:
- Work with winemakers to stream grape supply to appropriate programs
- Work cross-functionally with winery crush sites and trucking company to deliver the harvest
- Assist Grower Outreach and Viticulture Research groups in disseminating new technologies and best practices to growers
- Effectively lead a high performing team
- Build relationships with a broad group of grower partners
- Perform assignments that are broad and strategic in nature requiring strong analytical skills
What You Need
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Science or Agricultural Business plus 5 years of grower relations or agriculture experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Required to travel to various locations via automobile.
- Required to work extended hours during peak season.
What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Plant Science plus 8 years of grower relations, agriculture, sales, or finance experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- MBA/Master's degree.
- Wine grape experience.
