Job Description:

CannaCraft is one of the largest Cannabis companies in California, representing AbsoluteExtracts, Care By Design and Satori Chocolates. We are looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our accounting team. The role will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing and maintenance of all non-payroll disbursements and related documentation for four entities. This is a customer service-oriented role in a very fast paced, high growth environment. The Accounts Payable Manager plays an important part in maintaining positive relationships with external vendors and internal partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of full cycle Accounts Payable department, including but not limited to vendor setup/maintenance, coding vendor invoices, proper accounting treatment of vendor contractual arrangements, weekly payable runs, bank accounts management, and month-end close

  • Disburse large amounts of cash during weekly payable runs

  • Redesign and transform accounts payable processes that support company growth and ensures adherence to policies, guidelines and internal controls

  • Establish and monitor performance and reporting metrics for the accounts payable cycle

  • Manage month end closing and provide support for the month end accruals and account reconciliations

  • Train and evaluate AP Specialist to ensure high accuracy of coding transactions

  • Oversee and manage travel & expense reimbursements and petty cash disbursements

  • Manage annual 1099 reporting process

  • Assist with the coordination and gathering of documents to support external auditor requests

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to accelerate invoice processing timelines and automate manual procedures

  • Participate in ERP system implementation and upgrades to include design, documentation and testing

  • Provide support to management and other customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc analysis and special projects

  • Collaborate with other accounting department team members to support overall department goals and objectives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on strong Excel skills

  • General knowledge of Quickbooks preferred

  • Extreme attention to detail and follow through is vital

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment where priorities often change quickly

  • Must be comfortable physically counting and handling large quantities of cash

  • Well organized, analytical, independent, able to multi-task projects and prioritize responsibilities

  • Must maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Team player

  • Authorized to work in the United States

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or in other related disciplines

  • Five or more years of accounting experience (including at least one year in leadership experience)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate with outside vendors, employees and various levels of management

  • Strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills

  • Can do attitude, self-motivated and results oriented

  • Value business partnership. Proven experience in driving problems to a resolution
