Summary

The Analytical Lab Technician will prepare and analyze samples, including the extraction and purification of cannabis products, the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment, and the creation of reports.

Essential Functions

Collect samples and/or monitor sample collection as necessary.
Execute laboratory testing according to company standards and procedures.
Organize, store, and maintain all test samples according to company procedures and requirements.
Record all data / results in the appropriate location with high data integrity and in a timely manner.
Maintain equipment, perform routine maintenance, request service on and replace equipment as required. Calibrate and monitor test equipment as necessary to ensure continued accuracy and precision requirements.
Monitor laboratory supply levels and communicate needs.
Maintain a neat and orderly laboratory workplace.
Follow all sanitation protocols and current good laboratory practices (cGLP).
Follow the plant current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).
Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress for all work assignments.
Excellent communication skills.

Computer software including MS Word, Excel, etc
Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment
Basic knowledge of lab procedures including analytical chromatography and wet chemistry.
Strong documentation practices, including proper lab notebook maintenance
Knowledge of GMP/GLP

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or equivalent degree preferred
One year of laboratory experience required
Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

Work environment

This job operates in a professional, cultivation and production setting within the Analytical laboratory.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This role routinely uses repetitive hand motions such as pipetting, typing, and mouse clicking.
