I.PROGRAM/POSITION IDENTIFICATIONThe Cooperative Agricultural Support Services (CASS) is a Joint Powers Authority that assists in protecting and supporting California's agricultural industry and the consumers of its products by providing services and staff who fairly, impartially, and dependably carry out their work. Under the direction of county or CASS staff, the Agricultural Specialist I will provide program support in cannabis program.
The incumbent in this position provides program support by performing a variety of duties in the assigned designated program, while conforming to county, and CASS policies in carrying out work activities.
License: Valid California Driver’s License

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Under the direction of a designated supervisor, as well as operating within established guidelines and procedures, the incumbent assists Cannabis Code Enforcement with inspection and data entry activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
I. Assists with Cannabis Inspection activities – 65%
II. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties for the job are performed outside and inside of buildings. Outdoor weather, temperature, lighting and noise levels may constantly vary. Terrain may vary from smooth and stable to irregular and unstable. The incumbent may be regularly exposed to dust, pollen, and moisture. Driving a vehicle, as well as entering and exiting the vehicle numerous times throughout the workday. When working inside of building the workspace may be a cubicle or desk equipped with telephone, desktop computer, printer, chair and shelving for filing manuals, reports and books.
III. INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent in this position may be required to read instructional manuals and materials, and applicable regulations; keep accurate records and prepare reports. Must be able to maintain confidentiality; work effectively with supervision, co-workers, and the public. Incumbent must have a valid California driver license and maintain an acceptable driving record during course of employment. Incumbent must pass a "live-scan" background check.
IV. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent in this position will be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis; possess mobility to traverse, uneven terrain; use repetitive arm and wrist motions; bend, stoop, twist, reach; maintain visual acuity; hearing and speech to communicate in person and by telephone; manual dexterity to operate required equipment and tools.
