Our client, a vertically integrated and diversified multi-state holding company in the cannabis industry, is seeking a Accounting Manager for their New York office.
Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will focus on accounting and reporting matters of the parent corporation, and will be involved in all aspects of corporate accounting and reporting.
This position requires a current CPA, who must be an experienced, hands-on professional leader, that thrives in a startup environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Statements: Responsible for corporate (parent) company financial statements
- Review: Review subsidiary-level financial statements, as well as complex accounting and transaction review
- Close the G/L on a monthly basis with a review of monthly reconciliations including intercompany reconciliations
- Budgeting: Create and adhere to budgets, cash flows projections, and budget to actual analysis
- Reporting: Create and document accounting and financial reporting processes
- Audit: Assistance with the year-end external audits and interim reviews
- Tax: Tax compliance and other related work as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field required
- 6-8 years public and private experience
- Retail or manufacturing experience, including cost accounting a plus
- Proven leadership experience in past accounting positions
- A thorough understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls, with knowledge of IFRS is a plus
- Sharp, self-motivated quick learner with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.
- Must possess advanced Excel skills as well as full MS Suite
- CPA required
Compensation: $109-119K Plus Benefits and Equity Participation
