Our client, a leading California based Cannabis cultivation facility, is seeking an experienced and responsible Accounting Manager with a proven track record to be the head of their fast-paced startup accounting operations based in the San Diego area.
Working closely with the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for all accounting functions including accounts payables, accounts receivables, payroll, cash handling, inventory management and audit controls and must be able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid mix of Real Estate, Revenue, Inventory and Cost Accounting Experience and will come from a mix of public and private accounting experience with at least 5 years of progressive experience including managing individuals.
Job Responsibilities and Description:
- Establish, modify, document, and maintain Accounting control policies and procedures.
- Revenue recognition, cash management, budgeting and financial reporting
- Set up vendors and process weekly accounts payables, while reviewing invoices for consistency and within budget
- Building and managing financial models
- Processing weekly Accounts Receivable
- Produce and analysis Cost-to-Complete reports
- Collaborate internally and externally to ensure taxes are filed and audits are completed
- Assist with weekly cash forecasting and reporting process.
- Insurance requirements including General Liability, Workers Compensation and Health
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in business, accounting or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in both public and private accounting
- Expert level QuickBooks Pro and Excel skills are a must
- Cost accounting experience is required
- Cash handling, Inventory Management experience
- Construction and/or Real Estate accounting experience is a plus
- Proven time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and able to work independently or as a member of a team
Salary Range: $75-80K
