Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the accounting department with accounts payable and receivable functions, as well as supporting the operations of the company.
Essential Functions:
- Perform day to day management of all payment cycle activities
- Perform daily journal entries
- Provide high level of exceptional customer service/External & Internally
- Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of all invoices/receipts
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies, and respond to all vendor inquiries
- Continuously improve payment processes
- Respond to CFO and Senior Accountant inquires in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accounting records for invoicing to customers
- Post customer payments by recording and reconciling cash, checks, and credit card transactions
- Monitor accounts receivable, including following up on collection of outstanding receivables
- Prepare schedules in support of monthly financial statements
- Reconcile and verify daily sales and deposits from various retail locations
- Cash reconciliation, including monthly statements and daily deposits for various entities and bank accounts
- High volume of QuickBooks entry/maintenance/troubleshooting and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet creation and maintenance
- Point of Sales (POS) system reconciliation
- Assists with administrative operations
- Assists with merchandise inventory management
- Ad Hoc Reporting as assigned
- Maintains filing for financial and operational documents
- Complete discretion and confidentiality is required of this position at all times
Minimum Education and Experience:
- 0-2 years related experience and/or College degree
- Must consent to and successfully pass background check
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle for business errands
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks software preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience with spreadsheet design, formatting and use of functions\formulas
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset
- Strong organizational skills
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
